The Outlaws are a friendly and welcoming club. We have teams in most divisions so we can usually find a place for any ability. If we cant find a place for you in our teams, don't worry, we'll keep you in the fold till we can find a place in one of the other 30 or so teams in the Manchester League! We are always looking for experienced players to join our division one team, but if you think you can swing a bat and catch a ball why not give it a try. Click here for more info on the club, how to get in touch and getting involved.
We always train and meet up at the Hough End Centre on Mauldeth Road, Chorlton, M21 7SX. During the pre-season from February to April we train indoors on a Sunday afternoon. Once the weather and light gets better we switch to Monday evenings 6:30 onwards. The Hough End Centre has all the usual facilities, plus a bar =) We have all the gear you need to start and have access to some excellent facilities, such as a brand new pitching machine and batting cage, the only one in the North West!
The Outlaws club formed from the Peelers police team in 2008. We originally had one team in the third division and after gaining promotion two years on the trot we entered the first division and also created a second team the Outlaws II. Once the Outlaws II were established and had won the second division a few times we started a new team called the Enforcers, made up of mostly of members of the GMP Sports and Social club. We have now also welcomed the Mutineers, a long term partner, into the club bringing our team total to four.
The Manchester Softball League is one of the biggest and arguably the best run league in the country. We have 30-40 teams each year playing across four divisions on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We have three major tournaments in Manchester and are developing a dirt show pitch at Parrs Wood. There are regular social events culminating in the end of season ball at some swanky place in town.
